This site is operated by the Gastineau Channel Historical Society (GCHS) to provide information about the operations of the GCHS. Founded in 1956 and headquartered in Juneau, Alaska, the GCHS is a non-profit organization that promotes the history of the Gastineau Channel area, operates the Last Chance Mining Museum, and cares for the Sentinel Island Lighthouse.

GCHS Presents "Women at the Constitutional Convention."
To commemorate and celebrate 50 years of Alaskan statehood, the Gastineau Channel Historical Society is hosting a meeting on "Women at the Constitutional Convention," which will be held Saturday March 7, 2009, from 2-4 pm, at Fireweed Place, 415 Willoughby Ave, Juneau. Parking will be available across the street at DEC and 2009 dues will be accepted.
